(i) Fighters seen taking off from ZITOUNA L.G. (ii) MT seen spaced at 150 - 200 yards intervals along the whole of the GABES-SFAX Road. (iii) A/C 920 landed at ZUARA. (Engine trouble)
The formation bombed the road SOUTH of MAHARES in 3 boxes of six A/C in line astern, each box bombing on its box leader. Four direct hits on the road were observed and bombs burst among approx. 15 very well dispersed MT on and beside the road. A column of white smoke was seen from the area bombed after leaving the target.
