Glossary of Terms
* 21 SQUADRON S. A. A. F.: No. 21 Squadron, South African Air Force. During September 1941, this unit was a key medium-bomber component of the Western Desert Air Force (WDAF).
* BA-BH (MARTIN BALTIMORE): A twin-engine light/medium bomber manufactured by Glenn L. Martin. While the squadron became synonymous with this type later, in 1941 they operated the Martin Maryland (e.g., Serial Nos. 1653, 1660, 1669), the Baltimore's direct technical predecessor.
