After R/V with 223 Sqdn over base, formation picked up a close escort of 16 Spitfires at PENNA Point and setcourse for target at 1000 Hrs, 223 Sqdn leading. 21 Sqdn attacked in 2 boxesline astern at 1055 Hrs from 9000' on a course of about 250°. The bombs of both boxes merged resulting in a long pattern which started as a slight undershoot and ended in the Western portion of the target area. 2 D/Hits on stationary RR trucks followed by one explosion with reddish smoke. Last a/c landed at base 1139 Hrs. NO enemy opposition, encountered.
