A : 23 Marauders took off from PESCARA in formations of 4 A/C each (except the last formation which consisted of 3 A/C) to attack Gun Positions in support of the Army in the PESARO area. Briefed target area (800 x 300 yds) had for its centre pinpoint S.055788 (4½ miles W.S.W. of PESARO). Attacks took place at 0930, 0931, 1313, 1315, 1435 and 1438 hrs. respectively. Patterns of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th boxes straddled target area with a good percentage of hits. The 4th box overshot target area by about 1000 yards, but a good percentage of its bombs fell in an adjoining target area. Throughout the day the target area was clear and visibility good. No enemy opposition was encountered. All A/C down by 1530 hours.
