After R/V with 223 Sqdn over base, formation set course over mountains, 21 Sqdn leading. Due to its proximity and similarity, 21 Sqdn in error attacked FERENTINO town (G370435) from 12400' at 0915 Hrs on a course of 215°. Second box bombed in close line astern, the whole formation pattern extending slightly N.W. of of town from G355442 to 374436 with some direct hits on both Rds. All a/c returned to base by 1010 Hrs.
