BA. ROAD FROM LINGUAGLOSSA TO D 0048 BB. From 2120 to 2140 hrs LT. BC. Medium Level Bombing attack from 8500 to 12000. Northerly courses. 88 x 40 lbs. 32 x 40 lbs Jettisoned. See BD. 3 Recce Flares No. 4. BD. First aircraft off experienced transmitter failure and returned to base. Bombs were Jettisoned from 2000 ft at 2035 hrs at N1512. The other aircraft had no difficulty in locating the road, but saw NO movement. The road was attacked as follows: - (i) 24 x 40 lbs at C 9832 and 2 flares (ii) 16 x 40 lbs at C 9824, bombs bursting across & light near the road. (iii) 8 x 40 lbs at C 9930 (iv) 8 x 40 lbs at C 9842 and 1 flare (v) 8 x 40 lbs at D0031. (vi) 8 x 40 lbs at C 9939 (vii) 8 x 40 lbs at C 9941 (viii) 8 x 40 lbs at D 0043 Bombs seen to explode.
