REF. : 21S/ 807 DATE : 27th AUGUST, 1944 OPREP NO. 807 FOR THE PERIOD ENDING 2100 HRS. L.T. ON THE 26th, AUGUST, 1944 REF. MAP:- ITALY 1:100,000 SHEET 109 PESARO OP. NO. 10 to 15/21/M. A : 24 Marauders, in formations of 4 A/C each, took off from PESCARA during the day to attack Gun Positions West of PESARO in support of the Army. Each A/C carried 6x500 and 4x250 fragmentation bombs, and the 900 x 300 yard area, briefed to be covered, had for its centre pinpoint S 055787 (4½ miles W.S.W. of PESARO. First formation of four bombed at 0904 hrs, and succeeding attacks took place at 0905, 0906, 1255, 1330 and 1417 hrs. Photographic results prove that the target area was well covered. First three formations encountered slight inaccu- rate H/A/A over target, but thereafter no enemy opposition was encountered. Last sortie of the day was completed by 1512 hrs. Throughout the day target area was clear of cloud and visibility fair to good.
