OPERATION NO. 4/21/M.
: 12 Marauders airborne by 1140 hours from PESCARA to attack
R.R. BRIDGE across ADIGE RIVER 10 miles north of ROVIGO.
One A/C landed immediately after take-off and reserve took
off. After R/V with 8 Spitfires at FALCONARA, formation
set course at 1245 hrs. and bombed in boxes from 10,000 ft.
at 1330 hrs. on a course of about 160º. Pattern of first
box resulted in a right error of about 400 yds. in river.
Second box straddled Northern portion of target, no D.H.'s
on bridge observed but probable D.H.'s on Northern approach.
4 x 1000 hung-up — jettisoned at sea on return.
No enemy opposition.
All A/C down by 1500 hrs.
