A : 8 A/C in two boxes, plus 2 Anti-Flak A/C airborne between 1610 hrs. and 1820 hrs. to attack the CAVANELLA Sugar Refinery at G. 544062. Both Boxes straddled centre of the target with excellent patterns from 12000' at 1720 hrs. on a course of 030º. One Anti-Flakship's pattern started with an undershoot, but finished in gunpositions; pattern of the other unobserved, but results presumed to be good due to good run-up and release. Slight fairly accurate H.A.A. from target area; one A/C hit in Starboard engine - landed at CESENATICO, ran off runway, extensively damaged - A/C Cat. II. Weather over the target was good with fair visibility.
