Italy 1:100,000 Sheet 40 - PALMANOVA. <u>Operation No. 181/21S/M.</u> :8 A/C in tow boxes airborne between 1010 hrs and 1257 to attack PONTEBBA M/Yards, but due to unfavourable weather over primary, windfinding A/C of 30 Squadron diverted formation to the alternative - an AMMO DUMP near MEDEUZZA between pp C512072 to C 523076. The attack took place from 11,700' at 1133 hrs on a course of about 025º; both boxes undershot slightly, patterns finishing in S.W. corner of target and destroying two buildings. No outstanding results observed. 8 Spitfires close escort from PORTO CORSINI. No enemy opposition. Weather; Target area clear below, with visibility good.
