12 a/c took off from BIFERNO L/G at 0940 Hrs to bomb an Ammo dump at F812665 (Eastern edge of ROME). After R/v with 12 Baltimores 223 Sqdn they led onto target via AVEZZANO and TIVOLI. Attack took place from 15000' at 1055 Hrs on a course of 180º. The leading a/c opened bomb doors too late resulting in an overshoot and to the right of target. No. 2 box also overshot merging in one pattern for the whole formation from F810661 to F812658. Hits among buildings otherwise NO results observed. Slight H/A/A inaccurate from S.W. of target area. 10/10 cloud over mountains 13000' tops, 3/10 Cu target area 12000' visibility good. All a/c landed back by 1150 Hrs.
