After a much earlier departure order had been cancelled 8 Marylands took off at 0825 hours, again combining with 12 Squadron to attack gun positions and M.T. in the vicinity of El-Adem. The Wing formation were escorted from L.G. 122 by a large number of fighters. 21 Squadron attacked the eastern targets, and 12 those to the West. Both of our targets (M.T. and Tank groups) were well straddled and a big flash followed by a column of smoke, was seen at 410411. Large numbers of M.T. were seen (stationary) in the vicinity of El Gubi, and (on the move in both directions) on the El Adem – El Gubi road.
