23 Marauders in five boxes of four A/c each and one box of three A/c took, off at intervals to attack Gun Positions in support of the army in the PESARO AREA, each A/c loaded with 6 x 500 and 4 x 250 fragmentation bombs. First three formations bombed an area contained in a S086806 – S087804 – S077797 – S075800 at 0850 hrs., 0943 end 1O52 respectively, each scoring a good percentage of hits in the target area. The remaining three formations attacked a similar area two miles further West at S054793 - S056792 - S053783 – S051784; times over the target were 1230, 1335 and 1435 hrs., and two boxes straddled briefed area, while the other undershot and right error due to U/s Bombsight. Throughout the day the target area was clear of cloud, with visibility fair to good. No enemy opposition encountered. Last A/c down by 1530 hrs.
