12 Baltimores airborne from BIFERNO L/G at 1620 Hrs to attack RIKSIC (HG 7905)? a town in YUGOSLAVIA believed to be occupied by Germans but surrounded by Partisans. With a close escort of 12 Spitfires, formation set course from TRIGNO at 1640 Hrs, but one a/c returned after 1.30 Hrs due to engine trouble after jettisoning bombs 5 miles N.E. of PELAGOSA Island. Remaining 11 a/c attacked in two boxes from 12000' at 1740 Hrs on a course of 085º. First box undershot and second box, following on, crossed the railway terminus and carried on to centre of town. Weather and visibility, good in target area. NO enemy opposition. All a/c back by 1850 Hrs.
