APPENDIX "F"SQUADRON ROUTINE ORDERS NO. 75/44. 21 SQUADRON, S.A.A.F. 112ByLT. COL. A.C. JANDRELL, D.F.C.Officer Commanding,21 Squadron, S.A.A.F.18th August, 1944.285. SABOTAGE.With the steady advance of the Allies into Europe, facilities for sabotage are greatly increased.It has been definitely established that the enemy is training more and more agents for this work and all nationalities are involved.Instances of sabotage are occurring in Italy, Corsica and North Africa, and are not showing any signs of decreasing.Sabotage of telegraph etc., lines has been checked and reduced but sabotage of machinery is very common, e.g. Damage being done to vehicles in Workshops.Agents are being placed behind the Allied lines whose duty it is to lay charges with a view to destroying vehicles, bridges, R.Ws., etc.These Agents will be asking for "lifts" by M.T. freely and are encouraged to leave an incendiary in the vehicle after dismounting.Another favourite form of sabotage is to hand in Allied property as having been "picked up". This article eventually causes destruction of the store in which it is placed.All ranks will be on their guard and will trust as few people as possible, and then only after carefully checking up through official channels (not amateurs). The most helpful foreigners will probably be the best saboteur.(Ref. 3W/5/21 d.d. 14.8.44).286. FLYING KIT.Owing to limited storage space at "T" Stores all aircrew personnel are to withdraw their flying kit before the end of this month.287. LEAVE.In accordance with instructions received from Adv. S.A.A.F. H.Q., C.M.F. all organised leave parties to Rome are to be suspended until further notice. Other ranks are not allowed to be in Rome between the hours 22.00 – 07.00, and can therefore be granted only day passes to Rome.Officers proceeding to Rome must reserve accomodation at the Minerva Hotel prior to departure from this Squadron.(Signal A/F. 455 Serail C338 d.d. 17.8.44).(Signed) L.R. CHURCH SERVICES – ROMAN CATHOLIC.Holy Mass will be said at 07.30 hrs. and 19.00 hrs. on Sunday, 20th August, 1944 in the Church beside the Officers’ Mess, No. 12 Squadron, also at 10.00 hrs. in Church near to Wing Headquarters.Transport will leave the vicinity of the Mess 20 minutes before each service.
