Fairweather " "Should an Officer be unable to report owing to operations, hewill notify the Assistant Adjutant before his tour of duty is to commenceand hand in the name of a substitute. It will be his responsibility toobtain and warn, the Officer who is taking his place.Para. 251. BOUNDS.All ranks are again notified that H.Q. Flight is out of bounds,except to those on duty. This order will be strictly adherred to.Para. 252. MEPACRINE FOR AIRCREWS.As a result of recent researches it has been decided that Mepacrinemay be used for suppressive treatment of malaria in flying personnel.Mepacrine is not effective in suppressing malaria until a certainconcentration of the drug in the body is obtained. Under the presentsystem of dosage this concentration will not be reached until 3 weeksafter the commencement of taking mepacrine.The following proceedure for the change over will be followedby all aircrew personnel.
All aircrew will continue to take one tablet of quinine daily for the next three weeks.
In addition, 1/2 tablet of mepacrine daily for the first week, and thereafter 1 tablet of mepacrine daily for the next two weeks.
