APPENDIX "Y"339SQUADRON ROUTINE ORDERS. NO. 58/44. 21 SQUADRON, S.A.A.F.ByLT. COL. A.C. JANDRELL, D.F.C.Officer Commanding,21 Squadron, S.A.A.F.19th June, 1944.Para. 226. MALARIA - PROTECTIVE MEDICATION.It is apparent from the accumulation of stocksof Mepacrine that personnel are not complying with ordersin connection with anti-malarial precautions.Squadron Routine Order No. 32/44, para. 123,sub-para. 1V is again published for information.(a) Mepacrine will be issued with rations and willbe taken by all personnel (except aircrew) until furthernotice. The dose will be 1/2 tablet for the first week(May 1st - 7th) and one tablet every day thereafter.(b) Aircrew personnel will take one tablet of quininedaily from May 1st. This is a medical supply and should beobtained through unit M.Os.(c) Commanding Officers will ensure that the tabletsare swallowed by all personnel. Special attention shouldbe given to isolated detachments, leave parties, M.T.drivers, etc., in whom malaria incidence is often high.(G.R.O. 21, para. 5)Para. 227. GAS EQUIPMENT.All personnel will place their Anti-Gas Equipmenton their beds for inspection by the Gas Officer on Tuesdayand Wednesday, 20th & 21st June, 1944.Para. 228.
