CASSINO.The town of Cassino and certain areas in the vicinityare thickly mined and booby trapped. The R. E. effort inopening and clearing these areas will inevitably result inexpenditure of life, and cannot be justified under presentcircumstances when all R. E. resources are required to supportoperations.It has, therefore, been decided to wire off the contam-inated areas and leave them untouched. From receipt of thislatter all ranks are FORBIDDEN to enter these wired off areasFOR ANY PURPOSE WHATSOEVER.(Extract minute ref. RHQDAF/S.1015/7/ORG. d.d. 4.6.44).Para. 212. ROME.The City of Rome is out of bounds to all troops whohave no official duty to perform in the Rome area.Para. 213. FIREBREAK - TENTS.All tents must have a firebreak of at least 20 feet.Para. 214. FIELD GENERAL COURT MARTIAL.No. 618642 Cpl. Bobbett T.S. of No. 225 Squadron wason 27th May, 1944 found guilty by Field General Court Martialof stealing rations from the Sergeants' Mess. He was sentencedto be reduced to the ranks and to 28 days Field Punishment.On confirmation, the sentence was varied to one ofreduction to the ranks, forfeiture of 28 days pay, and 14 daysC.C.(A. R. FIRES - COLLECTIVE CHARGES FOR DAMAGE.Cases of tent fires continue to occur in which thereis insufficient evidence obtained on investigation to identifythe person responsible. Personnel are warned that where a tentis damaged by fire, for which it is impossible to fix indiv-idual responsibility, a collective charge, to cover the wholeor part of the damage, may be levied on all or some of theoccupants of the tent.(A. S. wason 12th May, 1944, found guilty by Field General CourtMartial of using insubordinate language to his superiorofficer.He was sentenced to take rank and precedence as if hisappointment to the rank of Corporal bore date 14th August,1943, and to be severely reprimanded.The finding and sentence have been duly confirmed.(A.
