APPENDIX "S"202SQUADRON ROUTINE ORDERS. NO. 34/44. 21 SQUADRON, S.A.A.F.ByLT. COL. A.C. JANDRELL, D.F.C.Officer Commanding,21 Squadron, S.A.A.F.16th April, 1944.Para. 132. PARCELS - U.D.F.Following allegations made in the Union that manyparcels addressed to U.D.F. are received minus portion of thecontents and that in some cases the parcels are not receivedat all, I have examined the position and am satisfied thatit is under control and that everything practicable is doneto safeguard mails. There is no doubt that losses do occurand are mostly due to accidents, but the percentage is almostnegligible. Faulty packing and occasional unavoidable roughtreatment is responsible for the delivery of parcels minussome of the original contents. Loose articles are often foundin mail bags and it is not always possible to associate themwith the respective parcels. Such items are held for a whileand if not claimed are passed to hospitals or the Red Crossfor distribution. The Army Postal Service encourages report-ing of complaints in order that genuine cases may be invest-igated and remedial action taken where necessary.(Extract Contact Letter No. 17 dated 29.3.44).Maj. DISCIPLINE : DRESS AND BEHAVIOUR.Attention is directed to the imperative necessityfor correct, clean and tidy dress, and a decent standard ofbehaviour in all cities and towns.When walking out, or on leave, Officers and WarrantOfficers must wear ties when wearing battle dress.Other Ranks will keep the blouse buttoned up tothe top.The following will not be worn when walking out :-Coloured and civilian type scarves and mufflers.Mixed winter and summer dress.Bush tunics and shirts with short sleeves.(Ref. SAOA/MAAF/410/1 d.d. 24.3.44.).Para. 134. PAYBOOKS.Personnel who are admitted to Hospital must be inpossession of their paybooks.Para. 135. DELIVERY OF CORRESPONDENCE FOR PERSONNEL EVACUATED SICK OR WOUNDED.Before personnel proceed to Hospital they mustcollect from the M.O. 4 Hospital Admission Cards. One ofthese cards is to be completed and posted whenever a patientis admitted or discharged from a Stationary or General Hospital.(Extract S.A.
