0605 hrs Hal Far, Malta
Formation of 12 Baltimores led by Capt Stuart took off at 0605 hours and attacked DUMP SOUTH of BRONTE. The target was obscured by the shadow of Mount Etna. The incendiaries were dropped between the Railway track on and across the main road and into some trees and lands. Not many bursts were seen but 6 small fires were started, smoke rising about 100 feet. One vivid explosion seen. No fire developed. Moderate and accurate H.A.A before and during bombing run.
