FEBRUARY, 1943.SERTAN MAIN,M.E. | [15]from Cairo has been delayed by the weather for twelve days, re-turned by truck from Castel Benito, having been unable to landhere yesterday - landing ground unserviceable. He was welcomedwith a signal from the A.O.C. advising an immediate award tohim of the D.F.C. It is understood that that the "gong" isfor the Commanding Officer's outstanding services and theSquadron's contribution towards the last series of night ope-rations from Gazina. The signal was read out in Mess by MAJORM. BARNBY, D.F.C. who used his ribbon for the decoration ceri-mony. LIEUT.-COLONEL C. S. COPPEN, D.F.C., then made a shortspeech in which he thanked the Squadron for the co-operationand collaboration which had earned him the decoration.
