Major Britz left by air for the new L.G. O.21. The main party of the squadron left by train for the railhead at MERSA MATRUH. The train journey was comfortable but uneventful and the troops arrived at MATRUH the following day. Here they were met by the advance party with transport and conveyed to the camp site at the landing ground some 18 miles South West of MATRUH. The camp was pitched and slit trenches dug.
